50 VVIPs protected by Z+ security, 15 bulletproof vehicles ready to transport world leaders

Indore: A team of senior Special Protection Group (SPG) officials on Friday reviewed widespread security arrangements made by Indore police for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas to be attended by around 3,500 NRIs and VVIPs including the President and Prime Minister along with the President of Guyana and Suriname.“For the prestigious event, the President of Suriname will arrive on January 7 while the President of Guyana, the Prime Minister and President of India along with diplomates of 29 countries the external affairs minister, the chief minister and Governor of MP will also attend PBD,” Indore commissioner of police Harinarayanachari Mishra told TOI, adding that around 50 VVIPs including head-of-states of other countries, chief ministers and the governor will be provided Z+ security cover.“The security of the Prime Minister and President of India will be as per the protocol,” he said.The Prime Minister is protected by SPG and NSG commandos while the President of India is escorted and protected by the President’s Bodyguard (PBG). “Around 15 bulletproof vehicles have arrived Indore for transportation of the Prime Minister, President of India and other head-of-states” he said, adding that as many as 50 watchtowers have been erected at the strategic locations while around 300 watchers will be deployed on high-rise buildings at the strategic locations.“A total around 10,000 cops including a force of 7,000 police personnel received from the headquarter will be led by three DIGs and 15 SPs” he said, adding that advanced techniques of drones cameras, CCTVs and Lidar-based security system to collect reliable, detailed 3D data, and track people and objects while protecting privacy (like taking an X-ray of any object or room from outside without opening/entering there).He added that around 250 CCTVs have been installed in and outside Brilliant Convention Centre (BCC) while police verification has been done of around 8,000 private employees of Indore and other cities including those working at the venue, airport, catering, and other services/facilities. Mishra also noted that an extra helipad had been built near Hotel Park for VIPs and guests, and that a police control room had been established at BCC. Guests would be able to obtain the contact information of senior police officials by scanning the QR code on their visiting cards, the CP added. On Friday, the security arrangements at the BCC were reviewed by a team of senior SPG officials led by an IG ranked officer to ensure the foolproof safekeeping of the VVIPs and guests. “The SPG officials are satisfied with the security arrangements made by Indore police,” the CP claimed, adding that NRIs and guests were requested to keep their passports with them at all times.
