A child was hurt in Muzaffarpur after being struck by a minister’s motorcade.

PATNA: In the Muzaffarpur district on Tuesday, a six-year-old youngster was hurt when a speeding SUV that was a member of the convoy of the state’s minister for rural development, Sharvan Kumar, struck him. When the minister was traveling to open a park at Baliram High School under Wajid panchayat, the incident happened around 11.30 am in Pilkhi village under the Sakra police station area of the district. Outraged by the incident, the locals surrounded the officer’s car and stopped the deputy development commissioner’s escorting vehicle. They stopped the road and shouted anti-government chants. The blockade was removed once a police squad arrived and calmed the irate crowd. The injured child, Mohd Imtiyaz, was taken to Sakra Primary Health Center. He was sent for treatment to Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital after receiving first assistance. The child’s condition is stable, according to Raju Kumar Pal, SHO of the Sakra police station. The incident happened as the minister’s motorcade was driving through the village of Pilkhi. He said, “One of the escort vehicles struck the boy as he crossed the street, injuring him.
