Over 25,000 devotees attended the “Kheer Bhawani mela” held in honor of Jyeshta Ashtami on Sunday at the Kheer Bhawani temple in Ganderbal, Kashmir, according to home minister Amit Shah on Monday in NEW DELHI. “The mela occupies a sacred place in the spiritual realm of Kashmiri Pandit sisters and brothers,” said Shah. In a tweet, Shah expressed his gratitude to J&K LG Manoj Sinha, the central armed police forces, the J&K police, and the local administration for their assistance in making the mela successful.Last year, about 18,000 Kashmiri Pandits and devotees visited the temple on Jyeshtha Ashtami.Kheer Bhawani is regarded as the deity of Kashmiri Pandits.This year, devotees arrived at the temple in 107 buses
