Cops open a green channel for a patient with a brain stroke.

Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad city police created a green channel for a brain stroke patient Gajendra Jain who was flown from Vietnam to Ahmedabad. Deputy commissioner of police Kanan Desai said that they got the information that a patient who was suffering from brain stroke was to be shifted to Vadodara. The police not only created a green channel for Jain within the city but even coordinated with other district superintendents of police and ensured that the facility continued till the patient reached Vadodara where he was admitted to a hospital. She stated that the in charge police commissioner Premvir Singh immediately gave nod to the proposal and the deputy commissioner of police controls Komal Vyas coordinated the movement of the ambulance with police escort.Mahesh Shah, a family friend of Jain, said that Jain had gone to Vietnam on a vacation. There he suffered a major brain stroke. He said requests were made to the Indian government and the Vietnam government to transfer Jain to Vadodara city.“The treatment facility in Vadodara was good and hence we wanted Jain to be brought to the city for further treatment. The governments of India and Vietnam were quick in their responses and Jain was brought to Ahmedabad from where he was shifted to Vadodara,” said Shah.Jain’s family friends said that for fast movement and immediate transfer, a green channel was the need of the hour and hence on our request to the police, the Ahmedabad city police made all arrangements.Mulji Pargi, the driver of ambulance, said, “From Ahmedabad, they were escorted by 10 to 12 vehicles and later at Kheda and Anand, and then in Vadodara vehicles were already in the waiting. Everything was very smooth.”
