CS assesses city preparations for the G20 meetings

Patna: On Friday, Chief Secretary Amir Subhani called a meeting to discuss the state of preparation for the impending G20 Labor Engagement Group meetings, which are slated to take place in the state capital on June 22 and 23. Harjot Kaur Bamhrah, the recently appointed additional chief secretary of the department of art, culture, and youth (DACY), as well as other attendees, were present at the meeting. Determining the duties of various government agencies and detailing the minute-by-minute timetable of the G20 delegates were the meeting’s main objectives. The nodal department in charge of planning the G20 meetings is DACY. According to Deepak Anand, additional secretary at DACY, “A department-wise review was conducted to assess the preparations for the G20 meetings.” A special medical team formed by the health department will be responsible for only taking care of the delegates’ medical needs. While the urban development and housing department will see to the cleanliness and upkeep of the selected routes that the delegates will travel, the information and public relations department will create a succinct and educational English documentary. The district administration has finalized the designated routes for the delegates, including their transit from the airport to their respective hotels (Maurya, Panache, and Lemon Tree), the meeting venue (Gyan Bhawan), and the excursion sites (Bihar Museum, Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib Gurdwara, and Nalanda). Moreover, the tourism department will arrange for bilingual guides to facilitate effective communication with the delegates. Additionally, it will provide ID cards to drivers, caterers, artists, exhibition stall managers, media representatives, yoga instructors, and others. Speaking about the delegates’ schedule, Anand said, “On June 21, the delegates will be greeted with a warm welcome and escorted to their respective hotels. The department of industries has also chosen and finalized appropriate gift items that symbolize the essence of Bihar’s cultural richness and heritage. The additional secretary continued, “Day 2 will begin with the inaugural session of the G20 event at Gyan Bhawan, followed by an engaging cultural program and a gala dinner in the evening. Later that day, they will visit the Bihar Museum, immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the state. 150 delegates from 19 different nations, as well as EU representatives, are expected to attend the two-day meeting on June 22 and 23. The program will be concluded on June 23 with a visit to the Patna City gurdwara and a farewell ceremony. Comprehensive conversations on a variety of labor-related topics will be had at this event.
