CHENNAI: The Coast Guard apprehended two Sri Lankan fishing boats which were fishing 163 nautical miles off Chennai. Around 12 Sri Lankan nationals who were on the boats have been detained. A statement from the Coast Guard said that the boats Chejana 11 and Chejana 9 with 750kg catch onboard were escorted to Kakinada and the fishermen were handed over to the local police on Sunday. The Coast Guard had apprehended six Sri Lankan fishing boats with 32 crew members and seized 1,905kg fish catch in two months.
