Surjit Kumar Jyani, a BJP leader and a former Punjab minister, had to deal with the wrath of farmers on Tuesday when they gathered in huge numbers and yelled insults outside a marriage palace in the Fazilka district town of Mandi Ladhuka. Police pulled him out of the rally after nearly two hours under security. Suresh Nadda, president of BKU (Ekta Dakaunda) Fazilka, and activist Gurpal Virk claimed, “When we heard about Jyani reaching a marriage palace, we arrived there and started a protest.” Jyani remained inside. He was brought away by the cops with security after two hours. We shall continue our protests against BJP leaders till the Central government repeals the farm legislation, as requested by Sanyukt Kisan Morcha.
