Illegal abode: CBI is granted possession of Jacob for 5 days

Wednesday, the Central Bureau of Investigation secured the five-day possession of A Gideon Jacob, the proprietor of Mose Ministries’ children’s home. The CBI had petitioned the second additional sub court in Trichy for a seven-day detention of Gideon. The CBI arrested Gideon on Saturday on charges of harboring 89 girls in an unregistered home and trafficking them for 20 years under the guise of sparing them from female infanticide. Gideon had evaded apprehension for over a year. Jacob was on the run in 2016 after the CBI filed a case against him. His custody may reveal the truth behind his claims that he saved the children from infanticide in Usilampatti. The CBI will investigate why some of the children were carried aboard, according to highly situated sources. A four-person squad led by a female inspector from the CBI’s special crime branch in Chennai brought the pastor to Trichy.
