MUMBAI: On Thursday, 1,878 kg of marijuana worth Rs 3.75 crore was trafficked from Andhra Pradesh to Pune. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Pune section has detained six people and seized the marijuana. Additionally, a car and a truck were seized. Vilas Pawar, Abhishek Ghawte, Vinod Rathod, Raju Gondhwe, Shriniwas Pawar, and Dharamaraj Shinde are the six guys who have been detained. They are from Maharashtra and Telangana. Following a tip, the DRI Pune unit stopped the truck on the Solapur-Pune highway only to discover that a car was also accompanying the vehicle carrying the contraband. They have been charged under the terms of the NDPS Act, 1985. The four people in the automobile acknowledged that they were helping to smuggle marijuana illegally from Andhra Pradesh to Pune. The DRI is currently attempting to identify the origin of the illegal goods.
