Male escort’ posters appear in the hills of Uttarakhand; investigation ongoing

DEHRADUN: Posters in the district capital of Kotdwar, asking males to apply for escort employment, have prompted the Pauri Garhwal police to initiate an investigation. Posters advertising gigolo work were plastered on the walls of the Kotdwar bus station, railway station, almost all significant squares, and even the offices of the circle officer of the Kotdwar police and the city police station. The banner advertised “Playboy Jobs! Boys can earn Rs 5,000-10,000 daily by joining the escort company” with a WhatsApp number. Inspector Vijay Singh, SHO of Kotdwar, said, “The accused will be held soon.” A police officer familiar with the case told TOI, “We dialed the mobile number mentioned on the poster but it was switched off. Subsequently, it was put on surveillance. The last location traced through the number was near the Delhi-Haryana border.”
