MP defends son captured in escort drama in Mumbai

MP from Amroha Kanwar Singh Tanwar, whose son Meher Singh Tanwar was allegedly robbed by an escort and her accomplice outside a five-star hotel in Mumbai on Sunday evening, defended his son on Wednesday, stating that Meher Singh Tanwar was a victim of circumstances. The BJP representative told TOI that his son had become a victim of circumstance. The media has focused on the issue because he is the son of a member of Parliament.a The MP told TOI over the phone that his 40-year-old son is married and well-aware of his career.a Kanwar Singh said his son’s NRI acquaintance and business associate from London is the victim. The representative stated, aMy son had only assisted him in obtaining legal aid and notified the police about the incident. The MPas son, who was in Mumbai on a business trip and was accompanied by an NRI acquaintance, lodged a FIR with the Vakola police, alleging that he was plundered of Rs 1.5 lakh at knifepoint by a woman from an escort service agency and her chauffeur outside a five-star hotel in Santacruz (East) on Sunday after midnight. CCTV images, however, did not reveal any indications of violence. Two individuals from the escort service agency were taken into custody by police from a rented room in Vakola. aThey admitted that those who fell for their deception were from other cities and states. Fearing humiliation, their other victims never filed police reports, according to an investigator.
