BHOPAL: Instructions for the usage of red and yellow beacons on cars have been issued by the transport department. By taking into account all prior notifications, the transport department has granted authorization while acting within the authority granted to it by the Central Motor Vehicle Act of 1989. It states that when a vehicle is on duty in the state, a red beacon may be fitted. The governor, the chief minister, the chief justice, the speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, ministers, ministers of state, the leader of the opposition, the Lokayukta, and the head of the Human Rights Commission are all eligible. Judges of the high court, the chief secretary or equivalent officer, the DGP or equivalent officer, the divisional commissioners in their respective areas, the regional IG in their respective areas, the collector or additional collector in their respective districts, the SP and ASP in their respective districts, and the SDO (Revenue)/SDM, SDOP/CSP in their respective sub-divisions are also eligible for yellow beacons. According to orders, cars escorting VIPs who are entitled to the red beacon will utilize the blue beacon. When eligible individuals are not traveling in a car, red, blue, and yellow beacons will not be deployed and will be shrouded in black. Officers who qualify for a yellow beacon must adhere a certificate to their vehicle’s windscreen that was provided by a competent authority (a regional transport officer).
