Puzhal opens a new waiting area for inmates

A huge number of inmates must be transferred from Puzhal central jail every day for remand extensions to other courts, therefore on Tuesday, acting chief judge T Raja of the Madras high court opened a prisoners waiting hall. Inmates will line up outside the main gate to complete paperwork and await transfer to the police escort team. Inmates may wait in comfort with the aid of the waiting room’s shade and fans located within the jail, close to the main gate.
