The Lucknow Development Authority isolates Levana Suites two days after the fire.

LUCKNOW: Two days after four persons died in a tragic fire incident at Hotel Levana Suites at Madan Mohan Malaviya Marg, a team of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) officials, escorted by a posse of police personnel, sealed the hotel on Wednesday.After the fire incident, directions for the demolition of the hotel building had been issued as an LDA probe had found that the owners of the hotel had violated building norms. However, prior to the demolition, the police forensic department and fire safety departments were given access to the building to conduct a probe to find out the factors that triggered the blaze. On Wednesday morning, a joint team of LDA and police officials, led by the authority’s enforcement officer, Rajeev Kumar, reached the spot and made a public announcement asking people to vacate the area.Thereafter, the decision to seal the building was written on the wall with red paint and a yellow tape was put around the structure.”The building will remain sealed till the investigation into the fire incident is on. Afterwards, it will be demolished,” said Kumar. The LDA has already recommended disciplinary action against 22 engineers who were stationed in the zone when the construction flaws occurred.
