The minister’s escort car crushed the district court clerk.

Ashwani Kumar Tiwari, a resident of Dayanandnagar in Gosainganj police circle, was crushed under the wheels of a speeding Scorpio jeep while being driven by a state cabinet minister in Lucknow on Tuesday morning. The victim was originally from Singhpur in Rae Bareli, where his mother and two younger brothers still reside. Ram Loat Maurya, the victim’s neighbor and a clerk at the district court, identified the victim. The police told journalists that the Scorpio belonged to the LDA and was being driven to a gas station for refill at the time of the accident. Maurya told TOI that Hussain identified himself as a driver of Naseemuddin Siddiqui, a cabinet minister. Regional transport inspector Ganga Phal told TOI that the Scorpio belonged to the LDA and was being utilized as a minister’s police escort car. Maurya was unable to clarify whether there was anyone else in the Scorpio at the time of the accident. For additional district judge (ADJ) (IV) Shyam Lal, Ashwani was a peon. His wife Laxmi and three children—two boys, Anmol (12) and Harsh (4), and a girl, Shikha (6)—are left to carry on his legacy. When they heard the news, Ashwani’s family hurried to the hospital, but they were unable to see him alive.
